The initiative breathed new life into decorative elements previously used in the Carnival celebrations, demonstrating how making the most of existing resources can help reduce waste and promote more sustainable practices. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on the principles of the circular economy, the project highlighted the importance of extending the life cycle of materials through creative reuse. The tarpaulins donated by the DRT were transformed into a community art installation, reinforcing the idea that resources can continue to generate value after they have fulfilled their initial purpose. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative involved the C\u00e2mara de Lobos Community Centre, the Senior University and several volunteers, encouraging the community to play an active role in bringing to fruition a project with a strong environmental focus. This collaboration helped raise awareness amongst different groups about adopting more responsible behavior when using resources. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative reflects SRTAC\u2019s commitment to integrating sustainability into the areas of tourism, culture and citizenship, and serves as a concrete example of how the reuse of materials can be combined with creativity and community involvement.
