6th Eco Market of Câmara de Lobos celebrates the Laurissilva Forest
On the 5th and 6th of April, the Municipal Market of Câmara de Lobos hosted the 6th Eco Market, under the theme “Our Laurissilva Forest”. Entry was free, and the event brought together two days of handicrafts, gastronomy, music and nature-related products, celebrating Madeira’s natural heritage, classified by UNESCO.
The initiative promoted the circular economy, waste reduction and the use of organic products, with the participation of regional brands and micro-enterprises committed to sustainability.
The event also included an environmental awareness message, recalling the 2023 wildfires, with local scouts raising funds for tree planting in affected areas.
A celebration of Madeiran flavours, skills and traditions, with a focus on preserving the Laurissilva Forest and fostering environmental responsibility.
