800 Trees to Offset CO₂ Emissions in Madeira
Casa Velha do Palheiro, Relais & Châteaux, in partnership with environmental start-up Greener Act, has launched a reforestation project involving the planting of 800 trees. The goal is to offset around 20 tonnes of carbon emissions per year — the equivalent of 40 round trips between Funchal and Lisbon.
The project, named “Amazing”, honours the founder of Palheiro Nature Estate, Adam Blandy, and will create a natural maze where visitors and golf club members can enjoy an experience in harmony with nature.
By purchasing trees through the Greener Act platform, customers contribute to this initiative, which aims to reinforce Madeira’s environmental commitment and leave a positive, lasting impact on the territory.
