Câmara de Lobos joins the ‘Green City Accord’ to strengthen urban sustainability

Câmara de Lobos has officially joined the ‘Green City Accord’, a European Commission initiative that encourages municipalities to adopt ambitious environmental targets by 2030. The commitment includes improving air quality, protecting water resources, expanding urban biodiversity, promoting the circular economy and reducing noise pollution.

Since joining in April 2023, the municipality has implemented innovative projects such as Green Local Agreements, Remote-IT and MIP4Adapt technical assistance, reinforcing its commitment to urban sustainability. The formal signing of the agreement, during the European Green Capital 2025 ceremony in Vilnius (Lithuania), recognizes the municipality’s ongoing work to create a more sustainable and resilient environment.
