Workshop in Funchal promotes best practices for maritime tourism operators

The ecoRoute Workshop, an initiative of the Centre for the Study of Modern and Contemporary Archaeology (CEAM), was held in Funchal for maritime tour operators. The event addressed key issues on the preservation of Madeira’s underwater cultural and natural heritage, promoting a debate on good environmental practices.

Experts from different institutions shared knowledge on monitoring marine litter, marine protected areas and the impact of sustainable tourism on marine ecosystems. The exchange of experiences aimed to strengthen the protection of the oceans and encourage effective conservation policies.
