Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters test their skills in an underwater drill

The Diving Team of the Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses (BVM) carried out a demanding underwater rescue drill in the Afonso Cerqueira corvette off Cabo Girão. The aim of the exercise was to test the response to emergency scenarios at sea, including the rescue of victims in adverse conditions.

The initiative took place without incident, reinforcing the preparedness of operatives and cooperation between civil protection organisations, contributing to the effectiveness of rescue operations.
