PROAGES benefited more than a thousand people in Caniço in 2024

The Social Stability Guarantee Support Programme (PROAGES) benefited 1,120 people from 341 households in Caniço last year, with a total support of 255 thousand euros. The programme, created in 2022 by the regional government, helps working families cover essential expenses such as water, electricity, gas and telecommunications.

The Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Ana Sousa, highlighted the role of the Casa do Povo do Caniço in implementing the programme, during the inauguration of its governing bodies. He also guaranteed the regional government’s commitment to maintaining support for the operation of the institution, which received 46,000 euros in 2024.
