Wood will provide 50 per cent of renewable energy by 2025

From 2025, the region will have the installed capacity to ensure that half of its electricity comes from renewable sources. This assurance was given by the President of the Regional Government during a visit to the new Battery Centre in Caniçal.

The work, co-financed to the tune of 15.9 million euros by European funds, will be completed by the end of the year. At the same time, construction is underway on the Synchronous Compensator, an investment of 6.6 million euros, scheduled for completion in 2025.
