Madeira Sustainable For All joins Eco Rally Madeira
Madeira Sustainable For All joined Eco Rally Madeira, an event supported by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture through the Regional Directorate for Tourism, the first edition of the 100% electric rally that took place in Madeira on 16 and 17 September, during the fourth race of the Prio New Energies Portuguese Championship. Around 30 teams were racing in the road race, including the world champion duo of Eneko Conde and Lukas Segnese.
Like the other events in this championship, this event has embraced a form of management where ethics and transparency prevail, trying to minimise negative impacts on the environment and the community, as agents of sustainable development, joining forces in a relationship of trust and sharing, mobilising all those involved in its events to pursue shared responsibilities and objectives, in order to build an inclusive, sustainable and resilient future for people and the planet.
The widespread and growing participation in this type of event and the collective effort that needs to be made to help reduce the effects of climate change, for which motor sport can play an important role in raising awareness and sensitisation, as we can see in the Eco Rally Madeira.
The process of certifying the Autonomous Region of Madeira as a Sustainable Tourist Destination is a process of everyone and for everyone, and where everyone’s participation is perhaps the “most fundamental” element of this whole certification process.
