Regional Secretariat for Economy, Tourism and Culture represented at the “Environmental Sustainability in Motor Sport” Forum
The Regional Secretariat for the Economy, Tourism and Culture was present at the Forum on ‘Environmental Sustainability in Motor Sport’, held in Funchal on the afternoon of 31 July, during the Rali Vinho Madeira. Dr. Cora Teixeira, Director of Tourism Qualification Services, attended the event on behalf of the Regional Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture.
The event, organised by the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation (FPAK), highlighted the implementation of innovative measures to guarantee environmental sustainability in motorsport, including the use of synthetic fuels with zero CO2 emissions and programmes to offset emissions by planting trees.
These initiatives have been recognised as good practice by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), which also took part in the forum. Dr Cora Teixeira’s presence reflects the Autonomous Region of Madeira’s commitment to sustainability, through the Destination´s Certification process, in line with FPAK’s efforts to promote greener and more responsible motorsport.
