Ribeira Brava municipality hands out nine Eco-Schools flags
On 29 November, the Municipality of Ribeira Brava handed out nine Eco-Schools flags to schools in the municipality that stood out for their commitment to environmental education. The municipality valued the commitment of these institutions in training young people to be more aware of and responsible for the environment.
During the ceremony, the mayor emphasised the importance of strengthening environmental policies, especially in the face of climate change. He also called for young people to be made aware of good practices such as separating waste, saving water and energy, keeping public spaces clean and reusing materials, highlighting the positive impact these actions can have on the community.
The municipality has been implementing environmental measures, such as investing in LED and photovoltaic lighting, purchasing electric vehicles and installing eco-islands. The mayor also took the opportunity to raise awareness among the population about the correct disposal of waste and the use of the free bulky items collection service.

– EB1/PE da Tabua
– EB1/PE da Corujeira (Campanário)
– EB1/PE do Campanário
Padre Manuel Álvares Primary and Secondary School
– Childcare centre do Campanário
– Universidade Sénior da Ribeira Brava
– Activity and Training Centre for Inclusion (CACI) da Ribeira Brava
