16 Madeira hotels join the ‘Conscious Plate’ initiative

From 25 to 29 September, 16 hotels in Madeira take part in the ‘Conscious Plate – Sustainability and Zero Food Waste Days’ initiative, an action designed to promote the reduction of food waste and the responsible use of resources.

Participating hotels will create special dishes using the full potential of ingredients, with a strong focus on local and seasonal products. The aim is to highlight sustainable gastronomy, reduce food waste , and engage both tourists and the community in the transition towards a greener, more conscious Madeira.
The campaign, organised by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture, in articulation with the Regional Directorate for Environment and the Sea and the Regional Directorate for Tourism, seeks to demonstrate that culinary excellence can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility.
