CMF joined the initiative ‘World Cleanup Day – Cleaning Funchal from Sea to Mountains’

The Funchal City Council joined the initiative ‘World Cleanup Day – Cleaning Funchal from Sea to Mountains’ on September 30.

The cleaning and awareness activities took place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, mobilizing a total of 1,326 volunteers, including 899 children/youth and 427 adults, spread across various intervention points in the city, such as beaches, streams, cliffs, outdoor areas and social housing courtyards, school surroundings, and other public spaces.

Under the motto ‘Think Globally, Act Locally,’ the campaign once again fulfilled its goal of raising public awareness about the importance of environmental preservation, encouraging voluntary action in the collection and proper management of waste in public areas.
